This guest post from Lenny Mcknight.
When times are tough, I need an ear to listen to my troubles, or if I want to go out and have a good time to celebrate an occasion, my best friend is the one I call. She has been in my life for almost 15 years and I cherish every moment since I met her.
No matter the need, she is always there for me; to give advice for my love life or tips for raising my child, to borrow money if funds are tight or something extra comes up, or to go out for drinks for our birthdays or a holiday.
I especially enjoy going out for drinks at our favorite karaoke bar. We always have such a great time when we hang out with each other and our other friends singing badly at the microphone in between having drinks together and taking shots. It's so nice to spend time together and catch up on what is going on is our personal lives.
I always set my home security alarm from www.inhomesecurity.net/adt-home-security-benefits.html before leaving the house, and then I head to the bar to meet up with my best friend. We usually meet up a little while before other friends will arrive so that we have some time, just the two of us, to talk. I love hearing about what's going on in her life and sharing stories about my life and how my daughter is growing.

First Spring 2010 Outing
At the later part of the afternoon the wind started to pick up and it got nippy. We ended up having our dessert before we hit home. It was a nice day to start the spring season. Hoping for a great weather soon where we no longer need our thick or fleece jackets. I am so tired of bundling up every time we go out. It takes time and effort :-)

Slept Late
I slept late last night and our DD woke up around 11pm as well and did not went back to sleep until 1:46am. I was watching TFC and then I called my family back in the Philippines. I talked to my sister, my Mom, and my niece who narrated to me the funeral of our friend who passed away. She said that during the funeral, although it was very sad but the people who gave eulogies talked about the funny moments when he was still alive. He has a very funny personality and all his friends attested to it. The fun thing was his past and present girlfriends are also there and gave tribute to him. It made the whole crowd burst into laughter when the ladies were throwing funny comments toward each other. It is sad that when I will be able to go back there I will not be able to see the funny young man again.
Keeping in Touch
I was very surprised last week when I opened my friendster account. I received a message from one of my high school bff. I wasn't able to hear from her for 4 years. She went to Canada to work as Physical Therapist. I have been trying to look for ways to keep in touch with her. Until this month she sent me her message. I am very happy to reconnect with her. It is very amazing how time flies. When we were in high school we don't really expect where we want to be in the world in the future. Four of us in our circle of friends are living overseas; me here in the US and married, S in Canada working as PT, A in Dubai she is an HRM grad and work in one of the companies there, E and her hubby migrated in NZ and both works as ECE. I hope to see them all one day when we go back to our place.
Meeting Mimi and Mirriam
Late this afternoon I decided to go out and get some stuff at Walmart. While pushing the shopping cart to the deli section, somebody called my name and when I turn around I saw a lady with a pretty girl in tow. I did not recognize them at that instant. And then it donned on me that it's Mimi and her daughter Mirriam.
I met Mimi online. She is one of the bloggers I know since I was still in Georgia. And when we moved here she is the one I have in mind to meet one day. She told me the live near Capital mall but our paths did not cross until today. I am very glad to finally met them in person. She is very soft spoken and nice. Her little girl Mirriam is very pretty as well. I hope to see them again one day.
Talking to an Old Friend
My YM was on but I was on invisible mode when a message popped up. It was from a friend whom I went to the same university back in Philippines and she's here now in Minnesota. We talked on the phone after we exchanged numbers. It's more than a year since we talked. I learned that she is doing good and they are adjusted living here in the US. Her son is doing great and in school while she also found a job in their town. I am happy to hear from her again.
Friendsation
Congratulations To My Friend Ching!
I just got a call from my friend Ching from Darby, PA. She told me the good news that she is already an American Citizen. We met while we were waiting at the US Embassy in Manila for our interview. From then on we keep in touch. We also came here in the US of A together with our other friend Claud in CA. We booked our flight then at the same date and time so it wasn't a boring flight.
It was a fast processing for her citizenship. She didn't even file for removal because she joined the US military (Army) last year. After bootcamp she waited couple of months then she applied for naturalization. She told me she didn't pay for the application. That's really good.
Congratulations ma friend! See you next year. Am so excited :-)
Goodbye to a Friend
One of the most dreaded thing I have to say is saying goodbye. Especially when there is no guarantee that you will see each other again. I am just being dramatic and sentimental because my friend, Yoko and her family, is going back to Japan. We've been friends since 2005 when I started attending ESL classes here in our apartment complex. We don't have kids yet that time. Until they had a baby and we have ours too. When she learned I got pregnant she gave me her maternity clothes, we are of the same size. And not only that she gave me her baby's little clothes and toys. I will miss our walking around the complex every afternoon. When I was pregnant she accompanied me to have an exercise walk along with her toddler. Now they are back in Japan. We only exchange emails and addresses for contacts. I wish they are all doing great there and I am hoping to see them again sometime.
