Fun at the Park

Last Saturday the weather was really nice. The highest temperature were at 61 degree. I did my errands wearing only light jacket. Our DD even took off her jacket and was only wearing a sleeveless blouse and capri pants. I think kids can tolerate colder temps than adults, in my opinion based on how our DD behaves. That day also was the Barrio Fiesta at St. Martin's University hosted by the Fil-Am students in cooperation with the Fil-Am community here in our area. I was thinking of going but have to finish my errand for the week. My friends who went there just bought me some Filipino food and was really delish.

Later in the afternoon we decided to meet up at the park. Even if it's still winter, that day the park was full. Kids enjoyed playing around. Our DD is scared to ride on the swing but I let her and she was holding on to me like a hawk :-) I told her that it's ok until she let go but still looked scared. Hopefully in the future she'll be brave enough to ride on the swing. Her favorite is the slide. She's not afraid to slide even the longer ones. She also like to climb up ladders and the rope jungle but I did not let her since she's still a tiny one. The bigger kids were just so fast I'm afraid she'll be bumped around. I think the next park visit for her will be when Daddy is here since I got easily tired following her around :-) I don't want my water broke running after her at the park :-)

A Beautiful Day

We were blessed with warm days last week, hence we were able to play outside. The push cart can still be used for her but I have a hard time pushing it because she will drag her feet on the ground. I only used it when I get our mails from the mailbox and I'm in a hurry. She love pushing it now instead of riding on it :-) If we are outside and she wanted to push the cart, I let her be but only on the grass in case she fall. I am hoping tomorrow will be another warm day so we will go out and play again.

Our Monday

I know for some states, especially in the east coast, the weather is just treacherous. I saw on the news about the snow storm that hammered most of the northeast and even in Georgia and Alabama. When I woke up this morning I was happy because it was sunny. After we had breakfast I gave our DD her bath and changed her. I was planning to go to the store and get some stuff but decided to wait on the 4th. We instead went out to throw the trash, took our mails from Saturday and then paid our rent for the month. I put her on her push cart and let her hold the pizza box while I was pushing the cart in one hand and held the trash bag on the other. She held on to the box until we reached the recycling area of our apartment complex. Looking at her, she is happy to be able to help. She even wanted to hold the magazines that I got from our mailbox. She is really growing and a little helper :-)

I learned from the management that our lease agreement will end in April. So I told her that we will renew our lease for another year. I asked if they have a three bedroom available but unfortunately they don't have a three bedroom lay out in this complex. We thought of moving in a bigger place since we are going to have an addition. We will talk more on this when hubby gets back here. There are lots of things we need to prepare for our second child's arrival and hubby's deployment. On the other note, back to the weather, I thought the day will end up being sunny but around 4pm the heavy rain came down pouring, bummer!

Snow-Free

Our DD was able to walk our apartment's walkway without any fear of falling since the snow melted away already. If you remember from my previous posts here that this part in the picture was covered with snow and now it's as if nothing had happened. Honestly I like the snow but if it's too much it becomes a pain. Now that it's not snowing, we get the rain instead. We have a wet and soggy days since the weekend. I hope the forecast for tomorrow will hold true. Accordingly, the day for tomorrow until the weekend will be sunny and the temperature will goes up to the 50s. I am relieved to hear it because we really need a break from this snow-rain-snow-rain weather, don't you think so? :-)

First Time in the Snow

These pictures were taken yesterday. It was snowing Tuesday night and in the morning we had around 4-6 inches of snow. I brought our DD outside because I want her to experience the thick snow outside our apartment. I bundled her real good that she complained already :-) But when we got out and she saw the snow coated ground, she was impatient for me to put her down. She got so excited she wanted to ran but no can do since her feet are buried in the snow so she ended up dragging her feet.

The snow was pouring hard so after few minutes I decided to get in. She was crying as soon as I picked her up. She don't want to go inside. She was still crying, running to the door wanting to go out even when we are already inside the apartment. This morning the sun shone but only for few hours. I was thinking of going out again and let her play but around 3pm it was spitting snow again and it seem like there's a blizzard. The gust of wind was strong and the ground started to thicken again. Accordingly it is expected to have another couple of inches of snow in our area.

Is it winter yet?

I had fun putting on this vest to our DD. At first she touched the fluffy neckline of the vest and she jerk. I think she was tickled by the fluffiness of it. When she was wearing it I fasten the button near the neck part and she did not move her neck from then on. It looks like she was wearing a neck brace. I was glad she did not complain that it is enclosing her body too much. I think she will be fine come winter time when she is going to wear such kind of clothing. Here in the northwest we expect snowing so I have to ready her for it and make sure that when I dress her warm she will not cry.

Fall is around the corner

We are in the last weekend of summer and fall will start again. It is time for us to get fall and winter stuff. Living here in the US will really make you adjust to its four seasons. Not only you have to adjust to the weather but also the things that you need every season like in clothes. For spring and summer you can carry over your spring clothes to summer. But you cannot wear your summer clothes or dresses in winter and fall especially if you live in areas where fall and winter can get really cold.

So now we have to buy clothes for our DD for fall and winter. Although some of her pants and long sleeves can still be worn but we need more thick clothing. Here in the northwest the winter can be terrible so I have to prepare her for that. We started to get her fall clothes and I am still looking on good deals for thick jackets and winter stuffs. All her thick jacket last winter cannot be worn anymore so she need new ones. I hope I can find good stuff with good prices on it.

Feeling Tired

I was feeling tired doing my tasks yesterday. I guess the weather got into me. It is spring already but yesterday it was snowing. Very weird weather indeed. So instead of doing anything, I was just surfing the net and help my cousin with her blog. My little tyke here is very demanding too. She wants me to always hold her when she walks. I can't leave her alone with her push wagon coz she is till wobbly. Even if she is taking all my time it's alright with me. As long as she is happy I will do everything for her.

Wonderful Day

Today was a great day outside. I was able to wear capri pants, light blouse and flip flops when we went grocery shopping. Even the little one enjoyed her shopping cart ride from Walmart parking area to the store. I believe the temperature is around 60's. I am really loving the weather that I wish hubby is here so we can drive around and maybe go to a park. He called me twice today and we were able to chat online. I told him about how lovely the weather is and he said I just have to hang on and don't be sad. He promised we will see places around here once he is here.

Fat Burner

When my husband called me earlier he said that it is scorchingly hot right now in Iraq and it is not even the normal temperature. It was around 80s already but he said he is sweating gallons. I was telling him it is a good fat burner just like the Hydroxycut that he tried when he was still here before. He laughed. But honestly he said come summer time where the temperature is on the 100s plus their gear, he must feel sizzling hot and burning. Well, the more you sweat, the more your fat is burned and you can loss weight.

Very Nice Day

We have a very nice, sunny day today, which for me should have been yesterday so egg hunters have a good day hunting. We went out to throw our trash and check our mails and I wish we are near a park so we can play around a little bit. Although I was able to make a short walk around the complex but it is still not the same. Soon we may be able to go out in the park when our Daddy comes home in summer. That time we can wear some shorts sleeves or even pair of shorts :-) and flip flops.

Rainy Easter

Happy Easter to all! We are staying home the whole day because it is raining and gloomy outside. I don't feel like driving. Going to a park for picnic would be a disaster for this type of weather we have right now. My little girl will experience egg hunting when she's able to walk and that means next year :-)

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Tornado in Atlanta

I heard on the news that downtown Atlanta was struck by a tornado. It was the first in a very long, long time. The destruction includes the CNN building, Georgia dome, some apartments and hotels. It's a situation that I really don't wanna be in. I am wondering if my friend there and her family is doing okay. I did tried calling them up but nobody is answering the phone. I will try calling again later just to know if everything is good.

Sunny Day

Wow I can't believe it the sun is up since this morning. Even though it is cold but at least it is not raining. I was able to go out and check our mails and have a little walk around the complex with Shiloh. I know we need some sunshine for some time as well. I wanted to go on post to send out something for my husband but I haven't finish writing my letter. I was also waiting for a delivery that supposed to be delivered on the 10th but it is already 16 and we haven't got it yet. I will call them up tomorrow and inquire about it. For now we are waiting again for our Daddy's call and hopefully he can be online so we can see him through the web cam just like the other day.

Storm and Flood

I am glued on the telly watching the news and weather alert here in Washington. There are areas and families affected by the recent storm and flood. I am so afraid we will be flooded too. Even section of Interstate 5 going south is closed for the time being. There is a river near us that was also put on flood warning but was lifted this morning because it subsided already. Thanks God for that. According to the forecast we will experience dryness for the next couple of days. I was
glad earlier I saw the sun came out but now it's dark again. I hope those affected will still see the light amidst this disaster.

Snow, Rain and Wind

Yesterday we experienced the first snow here in our new place. Snowflakes pouring down before noon. Me and Shiloh sat on the flower looking outside through the glass French-door going to the patio. We watched the grounds from green turning to white. It was a sight to see. But the snowing didn't last long. It stopped and the rain with matching strong winds continued until today. At evening time despite the rain we went on post for grocery shopping. And the whole day today we just stayed at home. I woke up with a headache and didn't like to go out because of the weather. We are cooped in the house and did nothing but watched telly and movies. I watched TFC in the livingroom earlier while hubby watched his own show in the bedroom. Now we are watching a movie while doing this entry.

Wind Storm

The weather we have right now is kinda nasty. We are planning to go to Northgate Mall in Seattle to meet up my other "daughter" but I think we have to put it off this time. The wind storm was real bad. I heard the gust of wind and saw the trees at the back of our apartment slammed into each other. There were trees uprooted and electric line posts fell down. Good thing we didn't go out of the house. We had a black out for five minutes due to the wind storm. This is my first taste of the wet and cold season here in WA and I know there will be more to come.

Cold and Gloomy

The weather here now is describably cold and gloomy. We are supposed to go to the apartment because the cable guy will hook cable/internet/telephone. But since the condition outside is cold and showering I decided to stay here at the Army lodging. I got the chance to watch ABS-CBN online as well as do some task. I am aware that weather here in Washington is always cold, windy, and raining but seeing the green mountains, and nice people plus a lot of things to do and places to see, I think I can tolerate it. I may learn or develop to be an espresso or capuccino fan later on.

Our kind of Weekend

What's your weekend like? Ours is a typical one. Saturday the whole morning me and Shiloh just stayed at home because hubby went to work for couple of hours. Then afternoon I went to work. We were not able to go out anywhere. I really don't like going out this past few weeks anyway because it is scorchingly hot outside. We have a heat wave warning. Our temperature highs are triple digits for the past days with lows in 70s and 80s. I can't bare to put my baby's health in jeopardy because of the extreme heat.

Then yesterday, Sunday, we went to church. I was off so I was able to go with my "mag-ama" (hubby & daughter) to attend mass. My hubby don't want to miss Sunday service. So if I am off he will bring the baby with him to church. I was worried then if my Shiloh will be fussy and cranky. In God's grace she was very good. She was awake the whole time. We just left her in the carrier. She didn't cry at all. We sat in designated pews for couples with kids. It was soundproof glass-walled room but you can still see and hear the mass going on. If you are there you will really be disturbed by kids crying, running around, playing. But we were very pleased that despite the noise Shiloh didn't stir nor get irritated. She was just enjoying by herself.

After church we went to get some cold treat at Brusters before heading to Target. An ice cream blast quenched our thirst. We didn't stayed long at Target. After getting what we need we headed to have an early dinner at Country Barbeque. We plan to have a thai food but Chilli Thai was closed. When we're done dining we went home. My husband wanted to watch a movie but baby Shiloh was already tired. I don't want to over stimulate her with being out for so long. When we got home hubby continued to iron the rest of our clothes which he started earlier in the morning while me and Shiloh went to take a nap. It was indeed a great weekend for all of us. Hope yours was great too.
