This time of the year is somewhat the most expensive. Starting with celebrating Thanksgiving and preparing for Christmas. If you are not careful and watch what you are spending, you will find yourself in the pit of financial burden. This is why I learned to shop wisely. After Thanksgiving all stores will participate in Black Friday where you can score good deals on almost everything you need. I surf the internet and check websites that offers coupon codes or deal alerts. I love the Cool Gadget News and Discount Coupons at geek alerts for cool gadgets. You can find lots of great deals and coupons through this site for any electronics you want.
Geek alerts also offers 1800Flowers promo codes if you want to send special flower arrangements and holiday baskets to your loved ones. If you like free flowers and free shipping you can also check out this great offer of FTD coupons, still at geek alerts.
Using coupons and coupon codes can really help to lower the cost of what you need for this holiday. I love coupons and bargain shopping. I am thankful that you can find websites like geek alerts that can help shopper like me to score great deals when shopping. They offer promotions and deals for almost all stores. This promotions and coupons are really big help for my family especially in this time of financial hardship. So check out the links above and score great deals too while you shop on Black Friday.

Buying Clothes for My Girls
It is one of my weakness to shop clothes for my girls. I told myself not to buy every time we go to the mall since they grow fast and the clothes I'm buying will not be worn that much. Even until now I still love buying baby clothing for our 9-month-old little girl. Their clothes are just too cute and I can't get enough for my little one.
Aside from buying their apparel in our favorite stores, I also go online to shop. What I like in online shopping is the convenience. I tried different websites as well as the online sites for our fave stores. I even bookmarked sites that I really like. My husband told me not to bookmark it so I will not be tempted every time.
This year I am giving myself limit every month to only get stuff for the girls once a month unless it is really necessary. I have to do it in order for me not to go over budget and waste money to unnecessary stuff. So far they are good wit clothing and stuff. I may have to wait for spring to get them bigger clothes for that season.

Seafood City Experience
Last July Seafood City opened up their branch here at the Northwest. They have the store at Southcenter mall in Tukwila near Seattle. This morning we went to Seattle to pick up the older daughter to stay with us for couple of days before school starts. On our way back we stopped by the mall to check out Seafood City.
Since it's Saturday expected to have a lot of people inside. We have a hard time parking our vehicle. The parking spaces outside the store were already full. Good thing there was one shopper who walked toward her car so we basically waited until they can get out and we took the spot.
Inside the store is another story. There were too many shoppers and of course majority are Filipinos :-) I believe some of them came from neighboring cities as well like us. As soon as you enter you can already smell the fresh sea foods, produce and the cooked Filipino dishes at the inside restaurant.
Right at the entrance of the store inside the mall you can see the Red Ribbon, Tokyo Tokyo, Chowking and Jollibee stalls. Jollibee is not yet opened but the rest are. I decided to go to Chowking for lunch and wanted hubby and the kids to try it. There was a long line but in fairness the service was fast. For our order I only paid $29.72 for 5 pc. chicken value meal with bihon guisado for side dish, 8pcs. lumpia shanghai, spaghetti, king size halo-halo, two kalamansi juices.
There was a live band earlier and they're singing OPM songs. Right at the corner of the store there was also a screen set up and anybody can sing videoke. It was funny because it is very Filipino. There was this one guy who sung You are My Destiny, a popular song being sung in Karaoke and everybody were clapping and cheering including those at the restaurants eating. It was so reminiscent of eating in a carenderia and someone is karaoke-ing :-) It was fun :-)
After we ate I bought few Filipino products at the store. I definitely will come back to get other stuff. We did not stay long because the kids were getting antsy. Me and my friends were already planning of going there one of these days without the kids.

Check Out Style Hive for Cool Stuffs
I joined a cool fashion hub online and this is Style Hive at stylehive.com. As the world's largest social shopping community, you can find amazing deals, giveaways, new trends in fashion, accessories and many others. I was browsing the site and I came across lots of links and sites that offer cool stuffs for home and for everyone. They have a blog that is solely in giving information of what are buzzworthy deals that includes coupon codes and saving codes and what's new in the shopping world.
I found the link to this beautiful iron key hook (in picture) at Style Hive that I think is what I need to place our keys. Our daughter loves to play with our keys and one time we were looking for it but can't find it. Good thing was she remembered where she left it and she was able to get it for us.
I would love to have this Urban Outfitters hook not only because of its purpose as what I've stated above but also love its design and can be a wall art decor as well. If you want to know more about similar wall designs and decors, check out stylehive.com. I am pretty sure you will find a lot more that will suit your taste.

Huge Sale at Sears
My sisters back in the Philippines once asked me where I go to shop for clothes and shoes. I told them that there are really lots of stores that I go to but most of the time I go to Sears. The reason why I frequented Sears is because I get a good deal out my dollar. They have wide variety of high quality apparel but are affordable. Another thing I love about them is their very generous sales especially at the end of each season. Two weekends had passed already and I did not miss going to Sears here in the mall near us. This past weekend we went there after lunch and I was amazed by the enormous clearance sale that is going on. I was able to buy a Mudd Women's Nigel shoes on sale for $7.99 from $50 and couple of blouses and shirts for $5.99 each but there's additional 40% off of it. It was really a steal and I so love it.
I learned that they Sears is offering 75-80% OFF ORIGINAL PRICES ON FALL & WINTER APPAREL from now till April 18th. You can't really beat the prices they have. Stocking up of winter apparel for the whole family is very aptly now since they marked down their merchandise to a very, very low price. I wish I had more time that day. I did not have much of a chance to browse around since our DD was crabby. I don't like shopping with a whining baby in tow :-) So I am definitely going back there tomorrow.
I found these two outfit at Sears' online store and I will check if they have it in store. These two are on sale and it's very cute. I like it very much. If I can't find it in store then I will get it online. If you haven't visited Sears yet you still have time. Go and shop at Sears now!
Sears Presents - Busted Moms
I am not the only Mom who is getting thrifty at this time of economic crisis. All Moms that I had talked to share the same thoughts as I am when it comes to spending. Honestly, when we go shopping for food or for clothing I am not thinking of myself anymore but for the needs of our child. I also changed my way of buying things. I wait until the goods go on sale and that is the time I go to get it. The present economy is really teaching us to change our ways. This being said, I am very happy that there are still stores that we frequent that give customers some breathing space financially. One of these stores that we like going to is Sears. Last weekend we went to one of their stores near us and I was able to buy two pairs of shoes for our daughter that was on sale. Sears is also offering 75-80% OFF ORIGINAL PRICES ON FALL & WINTER APPAREL that will end until April 18th. This is the best time to stock up on winter stuffs for all the family.
And if you are shopping a lot in Sears, they are presenting this cool contest called Busted Moms. The rationale of this contest is to pamper Moms that are being busted by the recent economic situation. If you have a Facebook account you can become a fan of Busted Moms and nominate there a Mom you know that is now feeling busted with our economy and you will have a chance to win a $2500 Mommy Makeover Package. If you do Twitter, you can also follow @bustedmoms there and they are giving away Sears gift cards plus first hand access on hot deals updates and cool contests. I have account in both Facebook and Twitter and is following Busted Moms already. This is really very aptly to give Moms a boost in this bad economy. To all the Moms out there, check out this Sears contest and who knows you will be the recipient of this fabulous reward!
Bargain Shopping
Yesterday we were supposed to spend the remaining hours of hubby at home before I send him off to post to be away for a while. But he felt that I will get bored for the time that he will be away so he decided to go to the Supermall. Their manifest call is at 10pm so he still have ample time. We headed out after lunch and drove for 30 minutes to the Supermall. My intention is only to window shop and not buy anything. But when we passed by The Children's Place, it was packed. I found out that they've marked down all their winter merchandise. I ended up getting bigger winter jackets for our DD and some thermal wears and socks. I also checked Old Navy and was able to get couple items that I can send to my family back home. I like shopping when I know stores will be marking down passed season's items. You can get a good bargain even up to 99 cents for a cute blouse and some blings. I think this is the best time to stock up with seasonal items such as winter jackets and sweat shirts and pants for the whole family.
After Christmas Sale
I bet some of you still have Christmas hang over :-) Of course if you talk about holiday feast many are still trying to burp off the fullness. But with regards to after Christmas shopping, many are flocking the malls and stores for the big after Christmas sale. Yesterday we went to Seattle and we passed by 3 big malls. We are planning of passing by any of the malls but we backed off when we saw the long line and packed parking areas. I know there are food deals in stores but I told my husband, with the jam packed malls I don't want to go into the trouble of waiting to get parking as well as going elbow to elbow with the crowd. I believe I will be better off if I just go online since sale are not in stores only but more so online. Hubby agreed and told me to do my shopping online.
Pre-Thanksgiving Day Sale at Sears
I have been thinking of replacing our pots and pans because we have it for almost four years now. The kind that we have is really not that good quality. I think I will be able to replace it with a better quality cookware because I found a great deal of cookware sets at Sears Pre-Thanksgiving Sale. The picture of the cookware above is a 14 piece Stainless Steel Cookware by Kenmore. It is really perfect because it has the stockpot that I need. It is on sale from $179 to $159. Very good deal indeed, considering that this brand is a reliable and trusted brand for years and seldom I see it on sale this low.
The Sears Pre-Thanksgiving Sale has all Kenmore appliances and kitchen gadgets on sale. Not only this but you can find great prices on almost all merchandise. I guess I have to head up to the nearest Sears store before Thanksgiving because black Friday will be madness. I will still get the best price before thanksgiving with their current promotion now. I already told my husband about it and he said he will get it for me. I hope they still have it in stock in the store coz I cannot wait to have it shipped :-)

Kmart Lay-Away Program
My husband told me before that he worked at Kmart when he was a teenager back in his hometown in New Jersey. He had a great time working there. He told me that there is a lay away program at Kmart that is really great to help when you are budgeting and don't want to spend too much outright. When we got pregnant in 2006 we were scouting for baby furniture for the nursery. We went to many furniture stores but everything is just so expensive. We went to Kmart and we saw a good deal for a changing table doubled as a dresser, exactly the picture below.
I fell in love with the changing table and perfect for my theme for our little girl's nursery so we applied for a lay away. The Kmart Lay-Away program works wherein you can pay for an item every two weeks for an eight week period. Although I didn't wait for another two weeks and decided to pay it off so we can bring it home.
Now that we disposed already our daughter's crib and other gears, we are planning of converting the nursery to a little girl's room. Since most of her room's furniture are white, my plan is to create a room just like the one below. I can put the bed and headboard ensemble for lay away so I will not pay the big chunk right away.
So if you are thinking of having a big purchase now that holiday is coming, check out the Kmart Lay-Away program. It can really help our pocket and we can get the things we want to give to our love ones by not paying the whole big amount up front. It is very easy to apply. Just go to the store, pick your item, go to the lay away counter and make your payments. Then pay it every two weeks for eight weeks and then you can take the items home with you.

Our DD Needs Winter Stuff
It is still fall and it's getting really cold in here. Last night the temperature outside dropped to 30's. This morning when hubby dropped me to school he checked the temperature in our area online and the forecast was 29 degree. It is really very cold. When we got out I had our DD's clothes layered complete with bonnet and gloves. So today we are going out to get our DD more winter stuff because I don't think we will get a warmer temperature until spring or summer next year. She needs more thick clothing to keep her more warm when we go outside. I hope I can find good deals at the mall this weekend :-)
Plus Fashion
Looking for clothing nowadays can be done at the comfort of our homes. Well not only that but I think most of the things that we need we can find it online - clothing, shoes, electronics, food and grocery items. This is what I told my sisters that even if you are not at the department store you can still buy plus size clothing that you need. One of the stores that I recommended to them is the kikisfashionsplus.com since they are looking for a plus fashion clothes. This online store have a lot of cute, sexy and very trendy plus size clothing at a very affordable prices. Now they can order through there and they can even select for themselves the styles that they like. You can check it out too if you are looking for one.
Blowfish Sandals
I bought flip flop the other day and I wasn't satisfied with it. It's a thong sandal and the area between my toes where I have to wear it has blisters because of the friction it creates when I walk. Now I won't be able to use it unless I have to do something with it or else I have to buy a new pair. I am willing to pay for a fair amount as long as it will satisfy me and the sandal is of good quality. I heard about Blowfish Malibu that sells Blowfish Shoes and Sandals and when I checked it out online they have very nice selection.
Blowfish is a new line of shoes, sandals, and boots from well-known designer brands. Their products are very stylish and trendy. Now that its summer you can find shoes that are appropriate for the season. They have Blowfish Women's Shoes and Blowfish Men's Shoes that you can choose from. I look through their site for a retailer near us and I am glad they have one in Seattle that I can check out for. I am excited to see it in real soon. Check their site at blowfishshoe.com and locate for a retailer near you.

Yes at DealKing.com you can compare prices when you shop and by doing so you can select the best choice in doing your business without hurting your bank account. You will also earn cash back bonuses when you shop through them. Nothing to lose when you join DealKing, instead it will be to your advantage. TGIF
This week went by so quick. I love it :-) Well, today we went out to do some errands and a little of grocery shopping. I have to go out today and not tomorrow because I know stores will be very packed on weekend since it is Mother's day weekend. Just now when I went to Walmart there's a lot of people already how much more tomorrow. The weather is nice and it's not so windy. Our DD enjoys the nice weather as much as I do. She loves the outdoor as I observed. She keep on inhaling the fresh air :-) If tomorrow will be sunny, we will go for a walk around our complex :-)
Happy Friday everyone!
iSold it on Ebay
Ebay is an interesting site to buy and sell items online. I bought a lot of stuff from there like my Swarovski crystal ornament that I bought there very cheaply and some other good finds. Right now I am looking for an umbrella stroller for our little one because her travel system is heavy already and I have a hard time lifting it out from the car when I am out and about. I found the one I like and it's really a good price plus it's free shipping and handling.I was thinking of selling not in use but still in good condition stuffs that we have here. I have a lot of baby stuffs that I only used once. I found out that iSold It is the best place to drop off sell-able items to sell online. They have stores all over the country as well as in Canada. Here in Washington they have 3 store locations. Me and hubby went there one time, Tukwila store, and ask information about the process. This is really a hassle free service. Once you drop off your items to them you just have to wait for your check in the mail. You should try iSold It and get cash with your trash.
Grocery Shopping
I went out for grocery shopping today. I was planning to go out in the morning but I was caught up with a lot of things. Hubby called around 10am and he said he will be online. After we talked online he called me again twice. We finished talking after 2pm. Then I called my cousin in UK. While talking to her I changed our DD and I prepared myself too. Then when I open SS, it was raining with opp. So I tried to do some and then I decided to go because I have to get some food for our DD. If I stay too long in the computer I may forget the time. It was a good thing that the rain showers stopped and the sun came out so even if it was already passed 4pm when we went to Walmart it was still very light.
At Walmart I went to pick up fruits and veggies. I was trying to as much as possible pick up organic produce but Walmart don't have much of the stuff that I need. So I ended up buying mixed organic and non-organic fruits and veggies. For our DD's food, she is drinking organic milk already and I still bought some of the organic baby food from Mother's Best. When Julia Roberts was interviewed yesterday at Oprah she said that she is giving her 9 month old baby Mother's Best baby food in a jar as well as food that she cooked.
Next time when I go out shopping I need to list down those that I need so I can plan which store I will go that has more selection of organic food.

Monday Errands
I was a bit busy today. Our day started at the hospital for our DD's doctor's appointment at 10am. We were only there for almost an hour. I was thinking of passing by the Commissary for our weekly grocery shopping but it started to rain and I don't want DD to be cranky inside the shop. We headed home and she was asleep. When she woke up we had lunch. Afterwards we heeded to Target and bought some stuff and on our way back we passed by Walmart for groceries. I didn't stay long at Walmart because my little companion is hinting for a time out. I immediately checked out before she break loss a wail. We arrived home and thankfully she was brimming off to sleep again. After I put off everything away and changed her to her usual house clothes I gave her snacks. She then went to sleep after I nursed her.
Busy Saturday
I wasn't able to do my tasks online yesterday because I went out and spend almost all afternoon outside. I went to the house hubby was asking me to check, of course with our Realtor. It turned out okay but I the house I looked at did not click or have really no appeal to me. We still have to keep looking. After the house viewing I went to Walmart to pick up few things for my little on. It was chaos inside. There are lots of shoppers buying stuffs fir Easter. I have a hard time maneuvering my cart around the isles. I was glad the weather was cooperating I was able to put Shiloh in the shopping cart seat. Her seat cover is very handy and entertaining to her. After I was done we just headed home.
