Beauty Pageant

Beauty contest is really common in the Philippines. Even the smallest sitio or purok in the barangay when they have a founding anniversary celebration expect a contest like this to happen. So this joke was created. But I am not really sure from whom, where and when i got this joke about beauty contest but i'm trying to recollect it from my memory. This joke is in English-Visayan-Tagalog. I'm sorry for those who are not Bisaya. It's difficult to translate it into either straight Tagalog or English coz it will only jeopardize the humuor. Hope you guys understand.

Anywho, the Beauty Pageant happened during the Araw ng Buena Vista (pasintabi sa mga taga-Buenavista kung meron man hehehe)

Sa dihang gitawag na ang 5 finalist vying for the title Mutya ng Buena Vista for the question and answer portion:

Emcee: Finalist # 1 your question is "What is your favorite color?"
1st Finalist : (Nagpa-impress) My fave color is fuschia pink.
Emcee: Oi fuschia pink...Okay Can you relate your favorite color to your life?
1st Finalist: Ah, eh pwede 4th runner up na lang ko??

Emcee: Finalist # 2 your question is :What is an example of an amphibian?
2nd Finalist:(Pa-cute epek) Hmmm... frog.
Emcee: Correct! Another example?
2nd Finalist: (Pa-cute uli with confidence feeling she knows the answer) Another frog!!!

Emcee: Finalist # 3 your question is "What can you say about Buena Vista?"
(Contestant gahunahuna ug unsa iyang i answer ug sa dihang iyang nahinumduman sa nagsakay siya ug bus adunay plakard nga gaingon "Buena Vista says: NO TO DRUGS". Ug
3rd Finalist: (Smiled charmingly) Buena Vista says NO TO DRUGS!!!! (With matching raising the hands pa..mura ug nakibaka!)

Emcee: Finalist # 4 your question is "Who killed Magellan?"
4th Finalist: Clue please?
Emcee: His initials is L-L.
4th Finalist: Lito Lapid?
Emcee: Hindi ang kanyang pangalan ay inuulit-ulit.
4th Finalist: Hmmmm....Lito-lito?

Emcee: Last but not the least..Finalist #5 your question is "What can you say about the economic situation of the country?
(Contestant mejo napungot ang dagway ug gi-off ang microphone) Ug miingon
5th Finalist: Peste man ning naghatag aning questiona nga pirti mang lisora!
(Contestant gibalik ug on and microphone)
5th Finalist: That's all thank you!
(Natingala ang emcee ug unsay iyang tubag. Miingon ang mga judges "Pardon please we didn't hear your answer.")
5th Finalist: (Mejo milagat gamay ang mata ug miingon) One word is enough for a wise man!!

Oh lavan??? Hehehehe harharhar kakorni!!!!
