ESL Workshop as Friendship ground

Thursday is an exciting day for me since i will be meeting again my teachers and ESL classmates. I just love going there coz it helps me to improve my english speaking abilities and it's very great to interact with other people from different parts of the world.

This ESL workshop by the way is offered by a church group co-sponsored by the management of the apartment complex we live in for free. Isn't it great? I didn't pay nothing for the whole duration of the class. And the class is held in the complex' cyber cafe. So I will just walk in there from our unit. This time, I didn't walk in going to my class coz 2 of my friends, both Japanese ladies, offered me a ride. Yes!!!! That save me a lot of energy from walking.

Our class is really like a United Nation, 5 from Japan, 1 from China, 7 from Columbia, 1 Argentina, 1 Belgium, 1 India, me from Philippines and of course our teachers who are Americans :-) And in fairness and modesty aside, I can say that among us few only who can really read and speak well english. Thanks to my teachers in the Philippines. Even my teachers are asking me where I learned english well.

Nevertheless, I also commend my classmates because they're really apt in learning and doing great so far. Those that I am already friends with they like talking to me coz it also stimulates them to learn more. Which I am also glad to talk to them for us to practice and build our friendship.

Blessful Wednesday

I am thankful for all the blessings that I received today. To name a few...are the following:

  • I was supposed to go to my volunteer work but sad to say I have to stay home because my package from the Philippines will arrive and somebody should be at home to receive it. So presto at around 10:08 FedEx delivery came. I was happy coz everything I asked my sister to send me are here. She's (my sis) really a blessing and maaasahan!
  • Another thing is that last nite (Aug 28) my ABS CBN Interactive subscription already expired and starting today I can't watch The Buzz (showbiz chika), Teleserye (soap operas), TV Patrol (News), Game ka na ba and others. Of course I can renew my subscription but I was waiting for my hubby to pay for it hahaha. Unfortunately he was already gone to work so that means I have to wait until he gets back. But lo and behold! When I opened my email I received a Free 3 day license subscription from ABS CBN! They are doing it coz the last 3 days there was a connection/site problem and they owe it to their subscriber. Yipee....I can now view my shows for free until July 2. Then hubby promised to pay the subscription starting on the third of July ;-)
  • Then around 4pm today I received a call from the Manager of a Home Decor store who interviewed me for a position if i am still available. Wowowee I immediately told her yes am still available...According to her to come by her office at 4pm tomorrow for the briefing and everything. Very nicey! I told my husband about it and he said "Honey I'm pretty sure you are hired." My reply, "You think so?" Hahaha still apprehensive. He said, "Hello! can't you hear what the manager is saying? You are asked to go there tomorrow. She's not asking you to be there and then she will just tell you that you are not hired. That's gonna be foul!". Hmm...yeah hubby had a point. Well...the thing is I'm very happy and thankful. It's my first ever job application her in the US of A and got a good result. Thanks to an answered prayer. What a blessing indeed!

my old post....on half a year of beeing married

six months of marital bliss....
Saturday, June 18, 2005
...i know, i know we still have a long way to go but i felt so blessed that we are doing a magnificent job in our adjustments as newly married couple. Last nite when we went to bed we talked and evaluated the past six months how we've done so far with our life together. We laid what were the things we learned from the first time that we live together as husband and wife. The lapses and not so good decision we have made if there was any and if so far we attained our goals in line with our values.

We're immensely happy because so far we didn't find any flaws that we can consider a mar to our relationship. God forbids! We are really praying hard for that. The best thing that we like about us is our open communication, that we always talk about everything that comes between us. When misunderstanding arises, the hour will not pass without us talking about it.

We know that there's no such thing as perfect marriage. Along the way we will experience highs and lows that would shake the smooth flow of our marriage, but are we prepared for that? Yes! We are always keeping our faith. Making the Lord as the center of our relationship. Because in Him we can never go wrong.

I was so touched when my husband told me that he is very grateful and thankful to God that he found me, that I make his life complete :-) (walang halong bola!) I felt the same way too. We may came from different parts of the world, have different culture, background and upbringing but we are binded by the same feeling of love and respect for one another. And I can say that this feeling is growing stronger and stronger each and everyday. It's more than enough blessing to thank for that He bestowed on us.

As we celebrate our 6th monthsary, we went to watched Mr. & Mrs. Smith. It was really very timely coz the movie revolved around the couple who met in a most bizarre way and got hitched then after 6 years of marriage they are slowly experiencing a marital fatigue, got bored in dealing the routines of their married life. It turned out that they worked for a rival secret service company as deadly assassin, hunting bad people. Without their knowing they're being sabotaged and both their bosses want them eliminated. I like the humour and antic flicks that the characters threw at each other in their conversation. The thing that we learned is that, lies and deception/deceit leads the marriage no far, thus breeds distrust and disrespect.

Getting started....

Blog test...blog test.....I was contemplating to make a new blog where i can write about anything that happens from my day to day existence. And thank God have the courage now to create this online journal. I am still learning all the ropes in the blogging world and sure have a lot to know here but at least I did a kick to get it started. So excited and hope I will do well with this. I will be posting more about wellness and health information in this blog as addition to any motherhood experiences.
