Take a Summer Trip to Branson

I can't believe how time flies so very fast. We are now entering the summer season; not officially though. I am excited for the summer but also dreaded the days to roll by quick because it also means my husband will be away for a year. Anyways, as we are pinched with this economic crisis, it does not mean that we have to deprive ourselves of having summer fun. A great way to spend the summer is to go places that offer a lot of things to do like in Branson, Missouri.

I heard a lot of good things about Branson. This coming summer they have lined up activities and events that vacationers can enjoy. They have Father’s Day Salute, National Kid’s Fest at Silver Dollar City, the 10th Annual Clown Jam, and other live entertainment going on. One thing that I am really looking forward once we visit the place is checking out Silver Dollar City. I can picture my family having a grand time splashing at their renowned water theme parks and adventures, watching live entertainment, especially their Bluegrass Festival, and enjoy dinner shows.

As to accommodation, you can't beat the hotels that are situated in this wonderful city. There is Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing, a luxury hotel perfect for family getaway. This hotel is strategically located wherein it is only minutes away from the numerous attractions of the city. Another place to stay is the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel that is connected to the city's convention center. These hotels are just walking distance away from shopping centers, restaurants, theaters, and other fun sites.

Now, if you are looking at going to Branson, you might think of checking out their Hilton Serenity® Bed package. You can have a good night sleep at this hotel condo that features state of the art amenities. You will surely not miss home once you select this type of package. So, check out their site now and make your reservation early.

Planning for Summer Escapade

Summer is just around the corner. It is also the best time to go for a vacation. I love the summer weather because if you go to places for rest and relaxation you can enjoy most of its days. The sun is up and more often, no threat of rain. But we can't expect how our weather works at this point in time. Nevertheless, once you go for a vacation in summer you can look forward to have a grand time and fun in the sun. You can go to a park and have the kids play with other kids to their hearts content, go to the beach and splash all day long or go to your favorite theme parks and enjoy the rides and different adventures they offer. Whichever you prefer, it sure would be a blast.

So what is your plan for the summer? I have a suggestion for you to go to Kissimmee, the heart of Florida. This small town in central Florida has a lot to offer. Not only the hospitality and friendliness of its people, but the many attractions such as world class theme parks, outdoor adventures, fun rides, beautiful golf destinations, tranquil beach landscapes, nature parks, and many others the family can enjoy. I can attest to its grandness since we've been there twice and would love to go back there again.

You can even avail of a free vacation in the heart of Florida. Just enter the Kissimmee free vacation sweepstakes now for they are giving away three (3) weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two (2); and two (2) week-long vacations for four (4). Drawings will be held on or around 4/1/09, 5/1/09 and 6/1/09. Simply check out their site and submit your entry. I already did. Crossing my fingers I will get lucky and have a free Kissimmee vacation.

Great Branson Getaway

With the help of a social network I was able to reconnect with an old high school friend that is now living in Greenville, Missouri. We haven't seen one another for more than ten years now and with the help of internet we're able to keep in touch. She told me that if ever we can travel on that side of the US I will just give them a shout out so both our family can meet. This gave me an idea since they just live about an hour and a half away from Branson, Missouri, we can just meet there. We have been planning to visit Branson and since they live there then we can just plan it. She said they've been there and she cannot wait to tour us around there when we go there and visit.

I searched online and found out that we can stay either in Hilton Promenade, Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel or Branson Landing. They have this wonderful Hilton Branson Escape Package that is very affordable at 79.00 USD/Night when you book on February 5th and 8th in 2009. This is a deluxe accommodation where you can enjoy a cozy night along with a complimentary movie and drinks for two and breakfast. It is not bad at all. Staying in this prestigious hotels will give you access to various retail and entertainment places. They are minutes away to different theaters, golf courses, beautiful attractions and most of all the outlet malls. I know for us ladies, shopping is one of the agenda when we are going on a getaway. My friend told me that I will really enjoy staying there. Now, I can't wait to go on this Branson getaway and I cannot wait to see my friend again.

We're Back!

and very tired. Our trip to NJ is only a warm up for our move to the west coast. Gosh, it was really a tiring and exhausting trip especially coming back here in GA. We were driving leaving NJ at 9am Sunday and thankfully got home 6am this morning (Monday). We stopped by Fayetville, North Carolina to see hubby's twin. It was her first time seeing our DD. Even though we know we will be home late but it was an opportunity to let the Aunt meet her niece while we are still here in the east coast.

Another factor for making the drive longer was stopping almost every rest area. Feeding and changing the baby is impossible while the car is running so we don't have a choice but to stop and hang out at the rest area or a 24hour convenience store a minimum of 30 minutes. I am so glad I am breastfeeding so I didn't worry of making DD formula.

Driving at night is a lot better with our experience since she's asleep most of the time. But during day time when she's mostly awake, she fussed. Don't want to stay in her car seat, don't want to be strapped in. Even the AC is on she still sweats out in her seat that is why she gets cranky. Man, it was one heck of a trip. I could swear I will not go through it again but knowing we have a big move coming up which will have us driving for 5 days I can only pray that I will have more patience and our DD will be mellowed. Fingers crossed.

Our kind of Weekend

What's your weekend like? Ours is a typical one. Saturday the whole morning me and Shiloh just stayed at home because hubby went to work for couple of hours. Then afternoon I went to work. We were not able to go out anywhere. I really don't like going out this past few weeks anyway because it is scorchingly hot outside. We have a heat wave warning. Our temperature highs are triple digits for the past days with lows in 70s and 80s. I can't bare to put my baby's health in jeopardy because of the extreme heat.

Then yesterday, Sunday, we went to church. I was off so I was able to go with my "mag-ama" (hubby & daughter) to attend mass. My hubby don't want to miss Sunday service. So if I am off he will bring the baby with him to church. I was worried then if my Shiloh will be fussy and cranky. In God's grace she was very good. She was awake the whole time. We just left her in the carrier. She didn't cry at all. We sat in designated pews for couples with kids. It was soundproof glass-walled room but you can still see and hear the mass going on. If you are there you will really be disturbed by kids crying, running around, playing. But we were very pleased that despite the noise Shiloh didn't stir nor get irritated. She was just enjoying by herself.

After church we went to get some cold treat at Brusters before heading to Target. An ice cream blast quenched our thirst. We didn't stayed long at Target. After getting what we need we headed to have an early dinner at Country Barbeque. We plan to have a thai food but Chilli Thai was closed. When we're done dining we went home. My husband wanted to watch a movie but baby Shiloh was already tired. I don't want to over stimulate her with being out for so long. When we got home hubby continued to iron the rest of our clothes which he started earlier in the morning while me and Shiloh went to take a nap. It was indeed a great weekend for all of us. Hope yours was great too.
