Life-size Stuffed Toys

As we headed back to where we parked during our Seattle Escapade on Nov. 29th, we passed by this store, I forgot the name, that sells stuffed toy animals. The store is not that big but they have toys that kids will love. Even myself was amused by their displays. The kids enjoyed riding on the stuffed toys especially the big ones. I let our DD rode on the duck above :-) She enjoyed it very much she don't want to let go.

I bribed her to hop on the baby elephant so she let go of the duck. Then I let her hopped on the giraffe and some other big stuffed animals. She really enjoyed it. I wish I can afford to get her one of those so we can bring one home. Nevertheless, I was happy to see her enjoyed our short stay inside that store.

Baby Doll

Having a daughter is really very fun. Now that she's showing some personalities I can't help but be entertained by her even the littlest antics that she can throw on. I was contemplating before of buying her a baby doll but when we were at the store and give the doll to her she don't want to hold it. When I tried putting the doll in her hand she shook her body like she was grossed about it. So I did not buy the doll and waited. Last night we went to Walmart to get diapers. When we passed by the toy section I decided to buy her a baby doll. I picked the smaller and soft one that is safe for her to play. She smiled when I handed it to her and she kissed the doll. Right then I know she is ready to play with it. I bought it and I know she will learn to love it.

Tech Toys

I am wondering if later on our daughter will be addicted to playing computer games and other hi-tech toys and gadgets like playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. I think if we don't have it and she won't start playing it she may not be into it. Although as parents we have that concern that we can't afford to deprive our kids to experience those things but I will just pray that we won't give in to her every demands. I believe that we need to discipline her as young as she is that she can't have all toys that she wants and she only get it if it can help her. I hope Mommies can share to me their views about this.

New Toy

We bought her this new 3-in-1 educational toy from V-tech for her last week. She can ride on to it and it will roll or just steady. She enjoyed getting on and off of the toy. She also loves to press the different buttons. It is very educational and I thought she won't like it but she did. Right now we reverse the sides so it will not roll. She can't control it yet and I don't want her to tip over.

Keeping Her Busy

What keeps our DD busy when we are traveling/driving are her toys and books. Usually I give her the pacifier just so she has something she will bite on instead of her seat belt. Also, I give her this plastic book book with nursery song book with lyrics and pictures that everytime she opens it the music will play on. She can also press some buttons and describe the picture. She likes flipping through it. I like it since it is plastic and even if she bite it she will not tear its pages.

Shiloh's Playtime Picture #16

She loves to play with bouncing balls. I bought her small and big one. Before she can't hold the big one and everytime she got hold of it she will put it in her mouth. Now she love chasing it, passing it to me and even bouncing it just like the picture above.

We disassembled her exersaucer and made it into this playing S table. Now she can cruise around it. I put it against the back of the couch because it is not as sturdy as I thought to be. One time she was pulling herself up and holding the end and it broke off from where it was connected. She fell and landed her face on top of the other end that broke off. She had a little bruise on her face. The table is an S shape. The other side she don't have a way out but she figure out another way by crawling underneath it. She is now learning and can solve small problem by herself.

Our DD's Lil Corner

Look how messy her little corner here. I now have the dilemma of where to store some of her toys when not in use. I already sorted out the toys that are old and put it away. We don't have enough storage to store it. I wanted to put it in her room but she always play her toys in our main living area. It is very tedious to bring it out and bring it back to her room. Some of the blocks and shape toys are scattered all over the living room to the kitchen. I am the one putting it away all the time. I wish we have a separate room wherein it will be solely for her to play.

Shiloh's Playtime Picture #14

She likes dragging her stuffed toy down from the table. This talking puppy is her favorite because it make a sound when she touches its body parts. The fact that it responds to her when she's playing it makes her more interested in the toy. Sometimes when she gets too excited she will shake it and giggles.

I put the hat on her and was trying to take a picture of her. I did many takes before I was able to successfully took one. It's either she will crawl fast towards me everytime she sees me holding the camera or take the hat off. She was literally laughing when I took this one. Her laugh is contagious.

Toy Train for Christmas

If you asked kids, especially the boys, what they want for Christmas, I bet the most popular response would be toys. They might specify too what kind of toy they wanted and put them in their wish lists. And they can run a long list if you encourage them too, aren’t they? Just like my nephew N. He wanted a toy train complete with the buses and tracks and of course it should also run around those tracks.

At shopping.com you can find variety of vehicles and toy trains from different manufacturer. You can find Athearn, Bahmann, Walthers, Microtrain, and others. My nephew wanted the Learning curve Thomas and Friends toy train. He is a Thomas and Friends fan that’s why he wanted it.

They also have different models of railroad and raceway vehicles which is very nice to give as gifts. Their prices are comparatively low and you have many items to choose. Below is some picture of the toy trains that I am deciding on. Which do you think is the best?

Moon Sand

Christmas is fast approaching and hubby told me that he likes to start buying Christmas presents this coming October so we will not beat the rush. For my nieces and nephews as well as my close friends’ kiddos I already have an idea for a gift. I will buy them moon sand.

Moon sand is specially formulated sand wherein you can squish, mold, and shape it like dough. Being not able to dry out, reusing over and over is possible. It is a good replacement for playdough and clay. This kind of toy activity can enhance the ability of kids to be more creative and mentally active because they will be able to create something from nothing.

Aside from the ones I mentioned above moon sand can also be used by kids to sculpt and carve into different forms and creations. Kids would love it very much. It is Mom-friendly too. Why? Because it won’t stain, easy to wipe off and toxic and gluten-free so no worries for Mommies. I bet kids will love it.

So for Christmas presents for kiddos is out of the way now. So I will just worry the adult presents. Any suggestions?
