This picture was taken when DD2 was just 8-month-old. This was our morning routine then. She was just learning to crawl on her tummy. Her big sister love to play with her on the floor. She is the one who give the little one toys to play with.
It is so amazing how they changes from day to day. Right now she don't crawl on her tummy anymore but on her hands and knees. She is already 10-month-old, and she can pull herself up. She use edges of our couch, coffee table, bed, and even legs of anything to hold on to.
She is now learning to take some steps while holding on to furniture. She is aggressive but cautious little one. I know this is also the time of bumps and falls and I am glad that DD1 is very protective and watches her every time she is on the floor. DD1 call me up when her little sister is picking up small things or call my attention when she sees little sissy is somewhat in danger to her eyes.
It would be fun to watch later on when both sisters can play together and converse to each other while doing their activities. Hubby said to expect little fights from here and there, but I know it is typical to siblings. We'll see though how they're going to deal to each other once they're a little both older.

Playing Dress Up
Our DD1 is in a stage where she likes to dress up a lot. Everything with flowing skirt or a tutu and character costumes she likes to wear. Right now her favorite is the minnie mouse and blue tinker bell costume. That is what she wants to wear every morning as soon as she wakes up. At night, when going to bed, she'll wear her nightgown with disney characters on it or her jammies with matching tutu.
The picture above was taken on her sister's 7 month birthday and also her being 42 months old. The picture below was taken on Thanksgiving day while me and Daddy were busy cooking for our dinner.

Playtime Picture
On Monday it was sunny and bright even though the temperature was a bit nippy. I did my errands for the day. My first stop was at the school to check when can I register for the spring quarter. Afterward I decided to stop by at Target instead of going to the mall. We grabbed some lunch while inside the store so our DD will not get cranky. Got her mac and cheese and for me some pretzel. We had cherry frost for our drinks and water.
After eating I was browsing what are on sale and saw the doll stroller. When our DD saw it she got very excited. Right now she love to play with dolls and hug one when she go to sleep. Since the doll stroller was on sale for $8.99 I decided to buy it. When we got home she wanted to put her doll on it and try it outside. She liked it very much and it's her favorite to play with now.

Playing While Waiting
Our playful daughter :-) Every time she sees a play area we can't pass without her playing. I was in the hospital for some blood work to be done. I have to wait for an hour before the blood drawn. So glad that inside the lab there's an area for kids to play. While waiting, our DD was busy playing around. There's no other kid in there so the place is all for her to enjoy. She was very excited and can't contain her happiness. At the last minutes of waiting, there was one girl that came to play. She did not mind sharing the place at all. I told her to wait for her turn to slide and she gladly obliged.
Around 3:30pm today we are going to meet up with other friends at McDonalds for the kids to play. Our DD is very excited because she can play at the slides again :-)

Playtime Picture #17
I took this pictures back in October. When she's playing her alphabet blocks she will identify the letters and line it up. She also make sure that the colored part are on top. She seldom build the blocks upward but instead she fond of making long lines.

A Beautiful Day
We were blessed with warm days last week, hence we were able to play outside. The push cart can still be used for her but I have a hard time pushing it because she will drag her feet on the ground. I only used it when I get our mails from the mailbox and I'm in a hurry. She love pushing it now instead of riding on it :-) If we are outside and she wanted to push the cart, I let her be but only on the grass in case she fall. I am hoping tomorrow will be another warm day so we will go out and play again.
Line 'em up
When our DD discovered the fun of stacking blocks she do it all the time. Everything she can hold on to she will try to stack it up.
Lately she seldom stack it up but she will line up the blocks just like the picture above. I also noticed that she can now determine which is small or big one and had the blocks lined in order.
Even these shapes she will line up as well. It was funny one time when I gave her her cookies for snacks she lined them all on the table surface before eating it. I think this is the stage where their imagination is working up and she's discovering things to do with her toys and anything she can get hold on to. I just let her do things that she wanted while playing and encourage her if she feels frustrated because she can't do what she wanted to do.

So Excited of What She Did
Our DD will be 21 month old this month. What she is up to this time is running around and play stacks, either its the boxes or the cups. When she finished what she is doing she will clap and became so excited. My main thing now is how to stop her from running around too much. When she runs around my heart skips fast as well. I am afraid she will just hit on hard surface and injure her or what not (God forbid). I read and heard about toddlers who are into running all the time also and got injuries you cannot imagine. I hope she will pass this stage soon :-) so I will be at ease :-)

Shiloh's Playtime Picture #01-09
I bought this 100 piece foam building blocks in December for our DD to play with. I like it because it is soft and even if she will fall and hit the blocks she will not get hurt. Although it is appropriate for 3+ toddlers but it is not dangerous since the small blocks will not fit her mouth. You can construct different things with it but it will not connect permanently like the lego blocks. My problem also once the blocks are all out is putting it back in the box; just too many blocks to clean up after. When she plays with her other toys I make sure not to give her the blocks because it makes the floor so messy with all her toys out.

Play Area
We went to an Air Force Exchange (BX) and inside is a play area near the food court. After we ate I brought our DD inside the play area. There was only one little guy playing since it was passed 7pm already. Sure did our DD got excited when I put her on the slide. I assisted her though while doing so because she won't follow instruction lols. She was having a great time that she don't want to go out. We let her walked going out until the entrance of the store.

Stackin' em Up
Now that our DD is 16 months old I have observed that her recognition is more apparent. If I tell her something she will listen. If we call her by her name she will reply by saying "Hmmm" which can be translated to as 'yes'. When she is playing and I am at the kitchen I can't see her because of the wall that divide the two spaces. So from time to time I will call her to know if she is okay. I love to call her over and over also because I love to hear her response. It is like music to my ears. When I call her she will run to the kitchen with eyes wide, eyebrows up, and saying "hmmm". If she can already speak I bet she will say 'why you keep calling me Mommy' :-)
With her other milestones, we are glad to say that she can now copy and do the things that we are trying to teach her. Although it is not as perfect as we want to be but the fact that she is showing the desire to learn is a very welcoming sign. When I give her the stackable boxes she knows what to do with it. She will stack it up but in no particular order.
I also taught her the song twinkle, twinkle little star and she can do the action that I taught her. When I sing twinkle, twinkle she will do the closing and opening of the fingers. In the part of - like a diamond in the sky - she will make a diamond shape with her fingers as well. This little things that our kids learn is like a trophy that we parents are very proud of. I am looking forward for the many things that she can learn in the days to come.

Hep-Hep, Hurray!
If you are a Filipino and love to watch Wowowe you will know what my title is all about. Yes it is one of their opening game in the famous game show and our DD loves it very much. When the game is on she will be walking around the house doing the action of hep-hep which is two claps down and hurray raising two hands up. Before she was only watching at the game intently and smile but now she can do the action all the time. When I told my Mom she said she can't wait to see our DD. So everytime I called them back in Philippines I will put the phone in our DD's ear and my Mom will say hep-hep, hurray and she will do the action.

Shiloh's Playtime Picture #16
She loves to play with bouncing balls. I bought her small and big one. Before she can't hold the big one and everytime she got hold of it she will put it in her mouth. Now she love chasing it, passing it to me and even bouncing it just like the picture above.
We disassembled her exersaucer and made it into this playing S table. Now she can cruise around it. I put it against the back of the couch because it is not as sturdy as I thought to be. One time she was pulling herself up and holding the end and it broke off from where it was connected. She fell and landed her face on top of the other end that broke off. She had a little bruise on her face. The table is an S shape. The other side she don't have a way out but she figure out another way by crawling underneath it. She is now learning and can solve small problem by herself.

Shiloh's Playtime Picture #15
She was concentrating on her book flipping the pages watching her book in her little corner. Her toys are scattered all over. I took the picture without calling her because for sure she will be distracted. She will crawl towards me and will forget her books. I put all her baby board books in a bin and everytime she likes to look at it she will dig it out herself.

Daddy and Me Bonding Time
This is what my husband told me that he misses, on the floor playing with her daughter. This was taken on the night when he got home. I let her be with her Dad so she will be used to be with him. They are having fun playing and she gives out a heart laugh when Daddy tickles her. I thought she will cry if I leave her with him but thankfully not. She is still Daddy's little girl.

Shiloh's Playtime Picture #14
She likes dragging her stuffed toy down from the table. This talking puppy is her favorite because it make a sound when she touches its body parts. The fact that it responds to her when she's playing it makes her more interested in the toy. Sometimes when she gets too excited she will shake it and giggles.
I put the hat on her and was trying to take a picture of her. I did many takes before I was able to successfully took one. It's either she will crawl fast towards me everytime she sees me holding the camera or take the hat off. She was literally laughing when I took this one. Her laugh is contagious.
